Medical Qigong ~ A beginner's look (an ongoing series)

Did you know that you are an emitter of a powerful energy field, which you can use it to heal yourself?

Come join me as we continue to take a beginner's look at the different exercises and sounds, which purify, tonify and regulate your energy field. You will be focusing on transforming your negative Qi into a more balanced positive Qi, thereby helping YOUR body help itself. All levels welcome!

Medical Qi Gong is one of the 4 branches of Traditional Chinese Medicine. One of it's main objective is to increase or decrease the amount of Qi (one's life-force energy) and bring the body, mind and spirit into alignment. This is accomplished through gentle movements that engages your Qi to move where it is most needed for healing to transpire.

Benefits of a regular Medical Qigong practice includes:

Cost: $20 drop-in or purchase a class pass for $85 (good for any 5 classes), Seniors $17 drop-in

The Expressive Body (A Movement Awareness class series)

Our bodies are the containers in which we move, feel and process our experiences. These are stored somewhere within the body AND they are important to access if we are looking to healing and growth in our life experience.

During this series, we will look at the different body parts and the metaphors and myths associated with them. By doing this we will experience, explore and gain new resources about our lives and our reaction to life’s circumstances. This exploration will be based in movement, the body’s primary language, as well as drawing, writing and reflection.

  • Where: False Creek Community Centre 1318 Cartwright Street on Granville Island in Vancouver
  • When: Thursday mornings from 10:30am - noon February 2nd, 2011- April 5th (no class on March 15th or 22nd)
  • Cost: $ 70 for whole 8-week series or $10 drop -in fee.

No previous art or movement experience is required! This series is open to all adults who want to learn more about themselves in a more embodied and creative way. Please bring a water bottle and wear comfortable layered clothing, which allows you ease of movement.

Medical Qigong - An Introductory Workshop

Join me for a short, fun demonstration on how Medical Qigong can change your life. First, you will learn the basic series of cleansing and healing movements (plus a few extras), which assist your body in maintaining your optimal health. Then, you will have a chance to take the practice even deeper with a wonderful, relaxing meditation.

The Pulses of Life- A Free-Form Movement Workshop at the False Creek Community Centre

Pulses, they are everywhere in our world…in our lives, in our bodies and in our music. In this playful exploration, we will look at how our life's different energetic pulses affect how we move and breath as well as how we act and react to life's circumstances. This will be accomplished by feeding the soul through lots of movement, some dialogue and even a bit of drawing.

Come explore the “pulses” in your life! Please wear comfortable clothing, which allows ease of movement and bring a water bottle and journal, if you have one. All levels are welcome!

Come join me onMovement as Joy March 17th, 2012 from 9:30am-12:30pm for fun, experiential exploration of the pulse. This workshop is open to ALL adults and costs only $18!
